The above picture was taken at the origins of Jaysur in Romford. In 2003 we moved to the Blackwater Estuary
in a remote part of Essex where the dogs have plenty of land to have a good run. Their favourite game is chasing rabbits and
pheasants.....without any success.
We have been asked many times, why the name Jaysur and what does it mean.
Well, I will try to explain, when we decided to apply for to the Kennel Club for an affix we had to send
in six names. The first five were all a play on words and we thought that they were clever. The KC didn't agree!
We had to think of one more. Our first rough collies were called Jess & Josie, so working on the lines of Toys R
Us we thought of Jays U R, and thats how we arrived at Jaysur.
